Upon completion of the BS in Healthcare Studies, UT Dallas students will have received the traditional combination of science courses with labs in addition to coursework that approaches healthcare issues from a multidisciplinary perspective. This includes:

• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Case management skills including appropriate communication skills for interactions with healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of payer sources and procedures in healthcare.
• Patient education techniques including communication skills for effective interactions with patients and family members.
